SuSanA lead “Water for Prosperity” (Interactive Dialogue 2) for the One-Day Stakeholder Meeting in Dakar

2026 will be a pivotal year for water. Beyond the stock take on SDG 6 and several key regional and thematic milestones, the third United Nations Water Conference since 1977 will convene in the United Arab Emirates in December, co-hosted by Senegal. It will be a key moment to unite member states and the different stakeholder groups behind a clear vision for a water secure future and to position water as a priority globally, regionally, and locally.

Breaking Menstrual Taboos Through Theatre: A Journey of Empowerment in Kathmandu

In March 2025, amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the Nepal International Theatre Festival (NITFest), a unique workshop titled "Breaking Menstrual Stigma" unfolded at Mandala Theatre in Kathmandu. Facilitated by myself, Theresa Hübscher, alongside Malin Freytag and Saraswoti Chaudhary, the workshop employed Theatre of the Oppressed techniques to explore the myths, taboos, and realities of menstrual health in Nepal.

SuSanA at the #WorldWaterWeek 2023 in Stockholm: recap and key takeaways

Two weeks ago, the SuSanA Secretariat together with the SuSanA Global Steering Committee (GSC), SuSanA members and key partners from around the world attended the Stockholm World Water Week and were able to speak on behalf of the Sanitation Community. But before the World Water Week even started, the Secretariat and the GSC spent several days planning for the future of SuSanA, discussing important topics such as the institutional change process, funding, upcoming topics and trends, the regional chapters or cooperation with other networks. These days have been very intense, but also, we feel that we now are more aligned with what the next steps for SuSanA are!

SuSanA at the #UN2023WaterConference in New-York: recap and takeaways

The SuSanA Secretariat together with SuSanA members and key partners from around the world attended the conference and were able to speak on behalf of the Sanitation Community. Thanks to the efforts of many individuals, SuSanA was able to advocate for the inclusion of sanitation and hygiene as a prerequisite for access to safe and clean water
